Try to include these foods in your diet as much as possible. They are not only nutritional but seem to help not only your baby but everyone in the household. We would suggest eliminating cow milk first because it seems to be the #1 cause of most colicky babies. If their stomach still seems to be upset then eliminate the rest.

Five Tips to Soothe Colic Babies

More than 20% of all babies in the U.S. have been diagnosed with colic. How do I, as a new mother, resolve this? Are there ways to help calm the baby down? Here are five tips to help make your baby feel better:

  1. Use pre-digested formula and anti-bubbled bottles. This helps a sensitive tummy digest the food easier. They’re a little more pricy than other formulas or breast feeding, but it helps calm down your baby’s tummy tremendously. Anti-bubbled bottles helps your baby stay gas free.
  2. Swaddle your baby. Swaddling isn’t guaranteed to stop the crying completely, but when it works, it WORKS. It’s been proven to keep your baby asleep for longer periods. When they’re strapped in, it also helps to bring their shrieks down from hysterical levels. When your baby is happy, you’re happy.
  3. Purchase a white noise machine. Many babies need to hear womb-like sounds to calm down. Loop the CD so it doesn’t fade out, or else your baby will wake up. Soothing sounds you could fall asleep to, like sounds of the ocean, will do wonders for your baby.
  4. Mobility.Many babies are soothed by motion. A swing, car rides, and other types of motion usually work well for babies to fall asleep to.
  5. Use Kolik! Kolik is an alcohol-free substance that calms your baby down in minutes. It uses purified water and fennel oil to relieve stomach pains and cramps derived from gas.

All of these tips may work alone, but they’re most successful when combined together. Not only will this make your baby feel better, it will also give you some time to breathe. So put a smile on your little one’s face by following these steps!
